11 Tips to Help You Tackle Shooting A Football Game
(http://www.cheapshooter.com/2008/08/11/11-tip...)
The kids are going back to school, the weather is starting to cool; it’s August. This means one thing: football is here. But don’t be discouraged, you don’t need a $5,000 lens to shoot peewees passing the pigskin. With an entry level SLR (sorry point and shooters, you’ll need an SLR for this one!) and an inexpensive longer lens, you can take great images on the gridiron. Here are 11 tips for shooting under the Friday night lights:

A Beginners Guide to Capturing Motion in Your Photography
(http://digital-photography-school.com/a-begin...)
Beginning photographers have likely seen captivating photographs that capture motion which they’d like to duplicate. There are several ways to accomplish this and each has a slightly different goal. Sometimes, there is a need to blur certain elements in the image while focusing sharply on a few subjects in the foreground. Other times, you may want to freeze or blur everything. The direction you take depends upon your objective for your photograph.

How to Capture Motion Blur in Photography
(http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-...)
Capturing movement in images is something that many photographers only think to do when they are photographing sports or other fast moving subjects. While there is an obvious opportunity in sports photography to emphasize the movement of participants - almost every type of photography can benefit from the emphasis of movement in a shot - even when the movement is very small, slow and/or subtle.

There are many situations in the world of photography where you will have to decide how you want to capture a moving subject. Whether it is an athlete running down the field or a bird swooping over the water there are many different photo outcomes possible. You could end up with everything in the scene perfectly displayed without any blur or you could end up with the subject in focus while the background is blurred from panning. Water in Motion: Going with the Flow
(http://www.betterphoto.com/article.asp?ID=26)
Water in motion is ever-changing and ever-magical. That's especially true when it comes to slowing down the shutter speed and capturing a beautiful sense of soft movement as you see in boulder waterfalls and slides. This fluid-motion technique can be applied to all types of waterfalls, streams, ocean surf, fountains, and even lawn sprinklers. How slow is "slow"? To blur flowing or falling water, start with a shutter speed of around 1/8th second, and then work your way down from there - into the 1/4- to 1/2-second range. The ultimate in silky smoothness, though, generally doesn't start to set in until about a full second or so. Longer exposure times increase the slow-motion effect.

How to Photograph Baseball - Sport Photography
(http://blog.photoshelter.com/corp/2009/06/how...)
Baseball is a game that can be photographed at many levels, starting with small children playing t-ball all the way up to the Major Leagues. If you have never shot a baseball game before it is best to practice and learn shooting Little Leaguers (ages 8-12). At this age the game is played on a smaller field where the bases are only 60 feet apart (opposed to 90 feet apart from age 13 and up) and the pitchers mound is only 45 feet away from home plate (instead of 60 feet 6 inches from age 13 and up). This means you are able to make close up pictures of the players in action without needing a big and expensive 300mm or 400mm lens.(- article-)

Motion in Images
(http://www.smashandpeas.com/motion-in-images/)
One of my favourite types of photo is one that conveys the feeling of motion. For me it really adds something to a photo; adding another dimension that brings more meaning, increases understanding, and draws the viewer into the image, capturing the viewers attention so that they feel they have ‘experienced’ the image, and taken something from it, rather than perusing it, feeling nothing and moving on.
