Making Effective Use of a Polarizing Filter
(http://photoclub.canadiangeographic.ca/blogs/...)
With the arrival of the digital photo age many budding photographers have questioned whether or not special effect filters are still needed. After all, image editing software programs like Adobe's Photoshop® seem to let you enhance photos just about any way you want. Although it's true many special effect filters have become less relevant over the past few years, one effect filter that still makes a strong case for its place in your camera bag is the Polarizing filter.

How to photograph macro water droplets splashes
(http://www.hypergurl.com/blog/photography/wat...)
Not long after purchasing my SLR digital camera, one of the first things I wanted to photograph was water droplets and spashes. Like many photographers I soon became a huge fan of flickr.com after searching with amazement through hundreds of pages of water droplets and splashes. It then took me quite a long time to work out an effecient technique for photographing droplets and spashes that were good enough to share with others.

How I took a macro photo of a water droplet - useful tips and advice
(http://www.slrphotographyguide.com/macro/wate...)
One of the main advantages of using an SLR camera, is that you can focus on a subject directly through a sheet of glass. This is exactly what I did to capture the macro image of a water droplet as shown below.

7 Tips from Professional Fashion Photographer Adriana Curcio
(http://digital-photography-school.com/7-tips-...)
When asked to write about tips and advice for aspiring photographers, I mulled over a few different topics, and everything I came up with was technically related. Then, I thought about myself, and my journey into fashion photography, and thought about the advice I wished I’d been given. What I needed were tips about the little things that fall through the cracks when you’re so focused on getting the mechanics down.

Drip and splash photos have always fascinated me for their sculptural quality. For a really supercharged effect, I go for bright, highly saturated, and contrasting colors.

Polarizing filter tips
(http://www.offrench.net/photos/articles/polar...)
The polarizing filter is one of the most useful filters for outdoor photography. It should really be in every serious photographer's camera bag. Polarizing filters exist for most camera types, from medium format to digital point and shoot cameras. Autofocus SLRs (like the ones I use) need circular polarizers. In these, the front side rotates which enables the user to see the effect gradually appear in the viewfinder. It is effective on:Skies,Water and reflective surfaces,Colors,Light absorption
