Achieving Better Focus and Sharpness in Your Images
(http://photo.tutsplus.com/tutorials/shooting/...)
The most common complaints I hear from most photographers of any experience level is and #8220;my images aren and #8217;t sharp and #8221;, and and #8220;I can and #8217;t get my focus to lock and #8221;. Most want to blame their equipment and, while there are many instances that equipment is to blame, I have found a vast majority are just simple user error. This is often down to a lack of understanding of how an autofocus (AF) system works. This photography tutorial will give you a better understanding of focus and sharpness, and hopefully help you take photographs that you and #8217;re very happy with!

Many photographers, even some fairly advanced amateurs, misunderstand how to properly employ lenses of different focal lengths. Although selecting a lens isn and #8217;t really a step-by-step process, for purposes of keeping everything organized and showing you how to evaluate a scene, that and #8217;s how it will be presented here. This photography tutorial will explain the reasoning behind choosing a particular lens, and highlight how considering the angle of view can lead to a fantastic photograph.

7 Black and White Photoshop Conversion Techniques
(http://photo.tutsplus.com/tutorials/post-proc...)
A quick glance through any photography or fashion magazine, or at the photos on social websites like Flickr, confirms that black and white photography is as popular as ever. With the coming of digital though, one important thing has changed. In the days of film photography, you shot on black and white film. Now, with digital cameras, you take photos in colour and then convert them to black and white.

An Introduction to Photogram/Contact Printing
(http://photo.tutsplus.com/tutorials/post-proc...)
In this photography tutorial, I will be going through a black and white printing process that does not require a great deal of equipment, time or money. This process is called contact printing, used for creating photograms (a photographic image made without a camera). This process does not require the use of a photographic enlarger nor is it absolutely necessary to use processed film. Below is a step by step explanation of how to create photograms. You will be astounded at just how easy and fun it is to print images using this method.

Make Your Subject Stand Out With a Rim Lighting Effect
(http://photo.tutsplus.com/tutorials/lighting/...)
I have long been a fan of rim lighting and, given the opportunity, would prefer to use it over a single light source. Rim lighting, which is often referred to as back light or even hair lights, is simply light placed on your subject which gives the appearance of a light outline. This technique pulls the subject off the background and offers some depth and dimension to what you are shooting.
